The American Dream is centered around the idea that hard work is all that is needed to succeed in America. One of the key outputs to this input of effort is homeownership, which is seen as the key boundary between the poor and the middle class. However, is home ownership really a necessity? It is becoming more and more difficult over the years, and mortgage payments are becoming a burden on many Americans. Would it be possible to change the American Dream so that say, someone can be living the American Dream, but be living in an apartment?
